Jacque Tyrrell, LCSW-C (she/her)

I am a firm believer that your struggles do not define you.

Hi, I’m Jacque!

I’m a social worker from Baltimore, Maryland! I love me some crab cakes and football!!

I am passionate about many things, but especially mental health. As a therapist, my clients appreciate my genuine and straightforward style; I believe in keeping it real and relatable, drawing from my own experiences to connect with others. My goal is to ensure that you feel like you’re talking to an actual person - not a clinical robot.

During your time in therapy, I will challenge and encourage you to push yourself. It won’t always be easy, but you will not have to do it alone and if you stick with it, it will absolutely be worth it!

My therapy room is a no-judgement zone, where you will be met with compassion and empathy. Whatever your goals are, I will be sure to provide you with accountability and all of the support in the world.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, or getting into one of my many hobbies (lol).

Some fun facts about me:

  • I have three cats: Zero, Rouge, and Sheba

  • I am a horror fan and looove spooky season

  • I can ride a motorcycle

In the Community

  • Mental health is one of my top passions in and out of the therapy room. I regularly create free mental health content and occasionally run free mental health workshops and wellness workshops.

  • I am dedicated to attending ongoing diversity, anti-racist and cultural competency trainings.

  • I set aside time to read about social justice issues and contribute by sharing information and taking action where I can.

  • I volunteer at a local animal shelter and help foster kittens until they are ready for adoption.

  • Attachment Based

  • Behavior/Thought Modification

  • Communication Skills

  • I believe in being human and having human moments. Everyone has faults, everyone is complicated, and everyone makes mistakes. We are not meant to be here to struggle on our own. I believe in community (or least the power to build our own community) and I believe that every person deserves belonging.

Methods

  • Emotionally Focused

  • Mindset-Driven Coaching

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • As cliche’ as it may be, mindset really does matter. During our time together, we will explore fixed and growth mindsets and dive into limiting beliefs that may be holding you back. A true growth mindset means more than being open to new information, it means being able to spot your strengths AND weaknesses then using them as opportunities for growth.
