Hi, I’m Maya Bennett, LCSW-C
I work with adults who are used to being the person everyone else can count on. You may be the dependable friend, the problem solver in your family, or the person who somehow keeps everything moving even when you’re overwhelmed yourself. From the outside, you might look like you have things handled. On the inside, you may feel exhausted, resentful, anxious, or unsure of what you actually want.
Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to take care of anyone else. Together, we can look at the patterns that keep you saying yes when you want to say no, feeling guilty for prioritizing yourself, or taking responsibility for things that were never fully yours to carry.
My style is warm, conversational, and collaborative. I’m not here to tell you how you should live your life. I’ll help you understand what is driving the patterns you feel stuck in, challenge you when it’s helpful, and work with you on changes that feel realistic outside of the therapy room. Our work may include building healthier boundaries, managing anxiety, improving relationships, navigating transitions, and figuring out who you are when you aren’t constantly meeting everyone else’s expectations.
When I’m not working, I’m usually trying a new restaurant, getting way too invested in a TV series, wandering through a bookstore, or convincing myself that buying another houseplant is completely reasonable.
Some fun facts about me:
I will almost always choose brunch over dinner
I have an ever-growing collection of houseplants
I love mystery novels and psychological thrillers
I’m the person who starts planning the next trip before the current one is over

My Approach
My clients often say they feel understood and challenged in the right ways. In our work, you can expect a space where your experiences are taken seriously, and you’re also gently pushed to look at patterns that may no longer be helping you.
Sessions are structured but flexible, meaning we stay focused on what matters most to you while also making room for what comes up in the moment. You’ll leave with concrete ideas to try between sessions, so therapy feels useful in your day-to-day life rather than something that only exists in the therapy room.

More About Me
Overall, I have 10 years combined experience working within the human service field as an agent of change. Most of all, I am a human with my own lived experiences and have learned how to overcome many of my own adversities. I will not let these experiences be in vain and would rather use them to push forward and create a better future for myself and for others.
